Councillor Nigel Pavey - Stamford ward

Nigel Pavey is a retired catering manager from the transport industry. He has lived in Epsom and Ewell for over 50 years. His 2 children and his 2 grandsons were all educated at schools within the Borough.

Nigel was first elected a Borough Councillor, along with his late wife Anne, in 1991.

On Epsom & Ewell Borough Council (EEBC), Nigel currently has the following roles:

  • Member of EBBC's Environment Committee;

  • Member of EBBC's Licensing Committee;

  • Member of EBBC's Health Liaison Panel;

  • Member of EEBC's Human Resources Panel;

  • An EBBC representative on the Epsom & Ewell Business Partnership Board;

  • An EBBC representative on Nonsuch Park Joint Management Committee;

  • An EBBC representative on the "Hospital Cluster" Group.

Nigel is currently Chair of the Liberal Democrat group, which is the main opposition group on Epsom & Ewell Borough Council.

Nigel was a governor of Danetree Junior School for more than 25 years. He is still actively involved with the school's successful "Walking Bus" scheme.

He is treasurer of Sunnymede Residents Association and vice-chairman of Age Concern Epsom & Ewell. He is also a committee member of Carers of Epsom and of the Friends of Ewell Court Library.

Nigel has a particular interest in facilities for both youngsters and older people - indeed anyone with a special need.

His hobbies include walking and the theatre.
