David Buxton - Court ward

Councillor David Buxton, Court Ward

David Buxton was elected to the council on May 3rd 2007.

David Buxton has lived in Court ward since 2005 with his wife and son. He has previous experience as a councillor in London. In spite of being born deaf (rubella), he lip-reads and uses a signing interpreter at meetings.

He is currently involved in the Livingstone Park residents association. His special interests are in planning, housing and equality issues. David has proven experience and success when it comes to fighting for better and accessible services for families, young people and children and for older and vulnerable people.

On Epsom & Ewell Borough Council (EEBC), David currently has the following roles:

  • Member of EEBC's Environment Committee;

  • Member of EEBC's Strategy & Resources Committee;

  • Member of EEBC's Financial Policy Panel;

  • EBBC representative on the People with Disabilities Empowerment Board for Mid Surrey.

In his spare time David gets involved in disability and deaf issues and enjoys visiting places of historic interest with his family.
