Alison Kelly - Town ward

Councillor Alison Kelly, Town Ward

Alison Kelly was elected to the council on May 3rd 2007.

Alison Kelly has lived in Epsom for more than 20 years, now in Whitehorse Drive (almost opposite Rosebery School) where her daughter is a pupil. She worked as a teacher, then retrained as a computer programmer and is now a Business Analyst with Philips. Her particular interests lie in the areas of energy efficiency and recycling.

On Epsom & Ewell Borough Council (EEBC), Alison currently has the following roles:

  • Member of EEBC's Planning Committee;

  • Member of EEBC's Strategy & Resources Committee.

  • Member of EEBC's Financial Policy Panel

Alison is also the Secretary of the Lib Dem group, the main opposition group on the borough council.

Alison became involved in local politics because of her dismay at the number of planning decisions that she felt were severely depleting open areas and back garden spaces. She is now directly involved in deciding local planning issues on behalf of the residents of Town Ward.

In her spare time, Alison enjoys jogging, cycling, gardening and baking cakes.
