The public can ask questions

Epsom & Ewell Liberal Democrats arranged a public meeting on the subject of the development proposals for Dame Annis Barn and 18 Burgh Heath Road. The meeting took place on Tuesday 23rd January at 7.30 at the Phoenix Club in Depot Road

Charles Church SE have applied for planning permission to construct 10 apartments, 4 semi-detached houses and 4 detached houses on the site.

The old Barn is not to be demolished. Lib Dem councillors have received telephone calls from local residents concerned about the plans. The packed public meeting was an opportunity for residents to meet the developers and express their support for or objections to the plans. Chris Moore, Director of Charles Church SE and Mark Berry, head of planning at the borough council, took questions on the principle of development in a conservation area, highways concerns and the plans for housing and apartments. You can get more details from Cllr Julie Morris.
