The Post Office in Epsom High Street1.09.33pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 1st May 2005
Following questions from Colin Taylor, both Epsom & Ewell Borough Council and Surrey County Council have written to the Post Office authorities about their plans for the main Post Office in Epsom High Street. At the Borough Council meeting on 19th April, the chairman of the Social Committee confirmed, in answer to Cllr Taylor's written question, that the Council had written as requested, reiterating previous concerns about the closing of sub-offices and expressing concern about a worsening of a service that has already been downgraded to an unacceptable level. Surrey County Council, at the meeting on 25th April of their Local Committee in Epsom & Ewell decided the question needed an additional agenda item. After discussion it was agreed that a letter raising similar concerns should be sent, emphasising the need to avoid long queues at peak times. Written comments from the Public will be accepted by the Post Office up to Friday 6th May. The address to write to is: Kevin Ray, Head of Area, Post Office Ltd., c/o National Consultation Team, PO Box 2060, WATFORD WD18 8ZW
